Murphy Bed
Is the such a thing as a Murphy bed lock or latch?
My Murphy bed does not stay closed. It is unsafe. I would like to know how to easily resolve it. By putting a latch or lock on one side? Suggestions welcome.
Is the mattress the correct thickness for this bed frame? If so , then is anything been moved that could put it out of balance? I believe that Murphy beds were suppose to stay closed on their own. Is there anything in the bed compartment, meaning the area it folds into, that might restrict the bed from closing properly? Also, check the axis or the pin or hinge that allows the bed to fold up, for wear. If you can't find any problem or can't repair the problem then I guess a latch is in order.
I have never heard of a Murphy Bed Latch, But can I suggest that you look for a nice antique latch at second hand building supply stores (some can be found near city dumps or are run by the town) . Hopefully this idea will fit in with your decor.

i got trapped in a couch fold up bed. when i was a kid my friend and i thought it would be fun so she closed me in it but then she couldnt get me back out.
